Goody Velvet Elastics

I designed and developed the first braided hair elastics with a flocked velvet/suede texture that enabled the hair elastic to gently grip the hair better than regular braided hair elastics. The velvety soft fibers could be applied to round and rectangular core shaped braided elastics. I developed the method of how to apply the flocking using an electrostatic process that would be attached to an electrostatic flexible adhesive. I sketched out the production line for the manufacturing process that our contract manufacturer would use for production. The invention was so successful that the concept was used on not only hair elastics but headbands and was marketed under the Goody Ouchless (round profile elastic) and Goody SlideProof (rectangular profile elastic) brands.
